The Correct Way to Wash Your Workout Clothes

From your pricey sports bra to your fitness wears, I present you some of the best tips and products to get your sweaty stuff spanking clean in no time

Your workout clothes need more care in the wash than your socks and tees. You sweat in them, and they also absorb all the oils and dead skin cells that come out of your body when you exercise. But while your workout duds dirty more than your normal wear, they’re also more delicate. In particular, the expensive fabrics used to make your wear stretchy and supportive react badly to two stuffs: fabric softener and detergent.

Recipe: Jamaican Cuisine

I saw these recipes on one of my favourite healthy foodie website and it’s finger licking good! They are recipes your family will love… I have heard that Jamaican dishes are to Nigerian’s thus I had to give these recipes a try, well not just a try, I have prepared them several times.

Jamaican Red Beans and Rice

Coconut milk, thyme, scallions and scotch bonnet peppers give this rice dish island flair! The perfect side dish to Jamaican Brown Stew Chicken, or enjoy this as a meatless  meal with a simple avocado and tomato salad on the side.

Rice and beans are a staple in most Caribbean and African countries especially Nigeria because they are not expensive and nutritious. Beans are an excellent source of fibre, protein and complex carbohydrates.

This meal is not spicy as the pepper is cooked whole for added flavour and is discarded before you finish cooking. Of course, if you want a spicy rice dish, you can chop the scotch bonnet and add it to the rice (I cooked mine this way), but caution, it will be hot!

Recipe: Peppered Mixed Veggies

Recipe by Funke koleosho
I love my spicies ( chillies to be exact!) do feel from time to time the need to add some to my food. Chillies are really versatile and may be added to virtually everything even chocolate...! The quantity added, of course, is the most crucial thing. Chillies are actually addictive...?! I would think. My recipe today is really simple and is a re-take on a previous one from last year.

My Waisted Journey

My name is Florence married to a loving husband, mother of 3 lovely kids and a loser!  I decided to venture into blogging seeing that my weight loss has inspired people to take control of their lives and tussle it back from unhealthy lifestyles and to turn to be the change they need.

slender me in 2008

In my 20s, I had a slim figure but as I got older and life grew busier, I slowly put on “happily married” pounds! :) But I just honestly had no idea how to really lose weight. My pants were getting snug and my “loose jeans” had become “skinny jeans”, but didn’t think I was almost obese. No clothe fits me (may be in my head) and could rarely find good trendy clothes my size. Then I became depressed (for years), obesity induced! I have always had a carefree life but as weight crawling in I was stressed, grumpy and bickering, sad and sulky. I go to bed feeling bad and wake up feeling bad just name it though I couldn’t tell certainly I was depressed.

I needed some relief, a bit of the “me” I used to know but couldn’t even figure out anymore. I needed my “back new life” (carefree) like a late friend used to describe me, my joy, euphoria and freedom. I wanted it all back but just didn’t know how to get back the old me.
